Woodgrain Creations UK

I have been a keen woodworker since learning the basics in school in Blackwood where I grew up. I initially focused on making and restoring furniture and other wooden items which I still love doing.
Since I obtained my first lathe a few years ago I became hooked on woodturning and what you see in my shop is the fruits of my labours. Sady, I am not able to keep every item I make which is the reason I set up this website and attend craft fairs.

I am a member of a local Woodturning Club and of the Woodturners Association of Great Britain. (See links left)

I enjoy the natural characteristics of the wood and the fact that it constantly changes both in shape and colour. My work does not seek to hide or mask the natural defects in the wood but to highlight, embellish or even celebrate these defects as they make each and every piece unique.

Each piece is handmade from timber sourced mainly from the local area and UK. I sometimes use exotic woods for special items. All my items are finished to suit the intended purpose of the item. Items for use with food will be finished in a food safe finish usually an oil finish. (See item description for more details)

I enjoy making various items and products to suit various purposes from abstract art for decoration, to practical items such as bowls and tea/coffee scoops.

If you don't see anything to suit in my shop, please get in touch and have a chat if you would like something made bespoke made for you.
