Yew is a stunning wood and never fails to produce great decorative items.   This piece has some purple staining which is common in Yew due to tannins and reactions to nature.   A rich golden colour with some brilliant figure.   Yew does tend to crack, which I aim to highlight and celebrate these flaws using other mediums to stabilise the cracks to enhance the look of the piece.  A natural stem as stalk completes the piece.  Buffed up with a clear wax.  Polish lightly with soft cloth only
